With more than 16 years of experience, I bring a great balance of knowledge and skill from a variety of disciplines including business management, Information Technology, youth and young adult ministry, and most recently as an Assistant Pastor.
My strongest gift is teaching God’s word. I believe the bible contains relevance for today and that its beautiful story is one of grace and mercy and truth. But I also believe our world has made everyone busier and busier and just telling people, “invite your friends to church” or “read your bible on your own” doesn’t cut it anymore. We’re all too involved with other aspects of life. So when people come to church, I feel they want to hear the bible and they want to understand it in a way that is relevant to their lives. I want to make the bible “come alive” and have people respond hungry and ready to experience its promises through service.
My wife Joanna is also an ordained minister and has served as a youth pastor for over ten years. She has her Masters in Theology from Fuller as well as a B.A. in Biblical Studies from APU. She and I both share a call to further Christ’s Kingdom. Much of our recent experience has been working with young families and youth; and as a young couple with a two year old it’s our passion to build a solid foundation on equipping parents to raise up this next generation.
Together we believe the church accomplishes more when it becomes a partner. When it partners with parents, it helps to raise up its children. When it partners with small groups, it helps to build obedient Disciples of Christ; and when it partners with the community and other local churches, it helps the world see the heart of Christ.
Most recently my wife and I have stepped out in faith knowing that God has something planned for us. In December my wife left her role as youth pastor of our church and in January we sold our home. Since then we have been making our lives available to the Lord through prayer towards the anticipation of the future that only the Lord can bring.
